It seems like yesterday that Peterborough Musicfest revealed its summer stage lineup, but here we are, halfway through the 16-concert schedule.
Starting with this Wednesday’s double bill of Abbamania and Night Fever, there are eight concerts remaining, culminating in Kim Mitchell’s season-ending performance on August 16th.
Musicfest executive director Tracey Randall is pleased with how things have gone so far, including this season’s debut of the Future Sound Series which has featured local performers on select concert nights.
Looking ahead, Randall is particularly excited about what’s being billed as Irish Week at Del Crary Park, which is a nod to the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Peter Robinson Irish emigrants.
Randall notes the season hasn’t been without its challenges, with this summer’s incessant heat topping the list.
