What would you wish for if you knew it would change everything?
The St. James Players are bringing a timeless fairytale mash-up to Showplace with Into the Woods, running November 7th to 15th.
Directed by Jacquie Butler, Into the Woods weaves together the stories of a Baker and his wife, Cinderella, and Jack — each chasing a wish that could change their lives forever. But when those wishes come true, the fairytale turns dark as consequences unfold and lessons are learned.
Butler says that journey is what makes the show so powerful.
Featuring some of Peterborough’s favourite performers, the production combines humour, heart, and lessons about family and fate. It also features music and vocal direction by Brian MacDonald and Justin Hiscox.
Butler says working with local talent is key to the group’s success.
With choreography by Melissa Earle, organizers say it’s a show for all ages that unites beloved Brothers Grimm characters on one enchanting stage. Butler adds the cast is ready to shine when the curtain rises.
Tickets are available on the Showplace Performance Centre website.
