Returning empty beer, wine and liquor containers could help local families find a safe place to call home.
From now until September 21st, The Beer Store locations across Peterborough and the Kawarthas are collecting container deposits and donations in support of Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region.
Customers can donate their refund when returning empties, or give by cash or debit at the checkout.
PTBOTODAY.ca spoke with Communications & Marketing Manager Holly McKinnon.
McKinnon adds that funds raised will go directly toward two affordable housing projects slated for completion by Christmas: an accessible duplex in East City for seven women with disabilities and a caregiver, and a single-family home under construction in Fraserville.
