What started as a one-off during Canada’s Centennial Year has turned out to be one of the region’s longest and most cherished annual summer events.
First held in 1967, the Ennismore Shamrock Festival returns July 18th to 20th at the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex off Ennis Road in Selwyn.
The full schedule is available at https://www.selwyntownship.ca/explore-selwyn/festivals-and-events/ennismore-shamrock-festival/, but popular favourites, such as the truck and tractor pull and the craft show are back.
Festival chair Londa Junkin says many who attend the festival now did so as kids, and includes herself.
Like many summer events held in the county, the festival rolls out the welcome mat for visitors who might not otherwise drop by.
Junkin notes free admission to the festival remains in place, but even the $10 charge to take in the truck and tractor pull is great value.
