The Napanee Raiders have selected hometown star Reid Lambert as their captain for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. The forward has played a total of 199 games, both regular season and playoffs, as a Raider, dating back to his first game in the 2021-2022 season.
Lambert stopped by the myFM studio and told us it means a lot to him,
Many of the Raiders leadership on the ice, like Ben White, Erik MacNiel and Michael Patrick, aged out after last season. Head Coach Ben Hagerman shared with myFM they understood how critical the loss was going to be. Eye’s then turned to Lambert,
The fans mean everything to the players, especially the kids. Lambert, who was once one of those young fans looking for a high five or stick tap, says the interaction goes a lot further than most people realize.
Looking ahead to the 2025-2026 season, Hagerman says there are a lot of exciting things coming, noting the recent player signings.
After the success of the 2024-2025 season and looking ahead to his final season, Lambert had a big thank you message to share with the community, their supporters, and fans.
88.7 myFM will be back broadcasting home and away games again this season, with Trevor Struthers providing all the play-by-play action, and George Wager joining as often as he can for colour commentary during the 2nd period.
