Where did it all start? The Napanee arena,
Murphy recently wrapped up an impressive NCAA career at Colgate University in New York. During her time there, she became the school’s all-time leader in shutouts and posted a .937 save percentage, a 1.59 goals-against average, and a 73-16-1 record. She helped lead Colgate to three conference championships and a Frozen Four appearance.
She credits her older sister, also a goalie, and her mom, as early inspirations.
She now joins the PWHL, which is entering its third season. Murphy says she’s excited to join a strong sports city like Seattle, where season ticket demand is already high.
The team name has not yet been announced, but Murphy says the energy around the league and her new city is already electric.
She hopes to one day inspire young girls just like her.
