The investigation into a fatal accident on Bensfort Road earlier this week is continuing.
Peterborough County OPP are now asking for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact the Peterborough County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 66-year-old Peterborough woman died following a single-vehicle collision south of Base Line.
Peterborough County OPP, Otonabee-South Monaghan Fire, and EMS responded to the crash at approximately 2:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle in the ditch that had struck a hydro pole, resulting in downed power lines.
Hydro crews were called to safely manage the live wires, allowing first responders to access the scene. The woman, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bensfort Road remained closed for several hours as collision reconstruction experts examined and documented the scene.
