United Way Northumberland has launched its 2025-26 Campaign with an $800,000 fundraising goal and the announcement of its first group of Program Investment Allocation partners-marking a significant step in the organization’s renewed, community-focused investment strategy.
Guided by recommendations from its Community Investment Committee, United Way has selected seven organizations for 2025-26 funding, with one additional partner to be announced in December. This year’s Program Investment Allocation partners include Beyond the Blue Box, Community Counselling and Resource Centre, Community Health Centres of Northumberland, Incredible Trent Hills, The Help Centre and Legal Centre of Northumberland, Transition House, and Trent Hills Pride.
Executive Director Alicia Vandine says the strategy is designed to strengthen existing community supports while investing in programs demonstrating meaningful, collaborative impact. The new approach aligns partnerships, funded agencies, and United Way’s in-house initiatives under one coordinated vision for local change.
In addition to the program allocations, United Way is directing Haven for All funding toward urgent needs such as homelessness diversion, rental subsidies for seniors, community training, and grocery card distribution. Recipients include the Abundance Project, Greenwood Coalition, Five Counties Children’s Centres, M-HEART, the Salvation Army, Suppers Ready, and The Help and Legal Centre of Northumberland.
United Way’s in-house programs-such as Backpacks for Kids, Period Promise, Northumberland Eats, and the School Nutrition Infrastructure Fund-also continue to play a major role in supporting local families and reducing barriers.
Vandine says the announcement reflects the strength of community collaboration across Northumberland County. United Way will unveil additional Northumberland Eats investments in December as the 2025-26 Campaign continues.
