Two women are in custody after Peterborough police seized a significant quantity of drugs and a prohibited weapon during a traffic stop on Sunday morning.
Police say members of the Community FIRST Unit stopped a vehicle in the Park Street North and Dalhousie Street area at approximately 11 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2025. The two passengers were taken into custody.
A search following the arrests uncovered 27.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 190 methylphenidate pills, 66 Dilaudid pills, 26.5 unidentified pills, 15 oxycodone pills, brass knuckles, Canadian currency, and drug paraphernalia.
A 38-year-old woman from Peterborough and a 41-year-old woman from Ennismore are each charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking — including methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and methylphenidate — along with possession of a prohibited weapon.
Both accused were scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Police remind residents that drug trafficking investigations often stem from proactive patrols and encourage the public to report suspicious activity.
