Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for southern Greater Napanee and Loyalist Township area, warning of strong southwest winds arriving Wednesday afternoon. Forecasters say gusts could reach 80 to 90 kilometres per hour and continue into Thursday afternoon.
The weather agency says the powerful winds may cause local power outages and make travel challenging, especially for high-sided vehicles. Residents are also urged to secure loose outdoor items that could be blown around.
