The Peterborough Petes opened their season last night with a 6-3 win over the Steelheads. Matthew Soto, who the Petes picked up from the Frontenacs this season, led the offence with a goal and three assists, while Easton Rye picked up the win in net.
The Petes take their first road trip tomorrow when they visit Brantford to face the Bulldogs. You can catch all the action on Freq 90.5, with coverage beginning just before 7 p.m.
The Trent Excalibur women’s lacrosse team is in London tomorrow to take on Western. Game time is 8:30 a.m. The men are off this week and return to action next Saturday when they visit Ottawa.
After starting the season with three losses, the Fleming Phoenix men’s soccer team will be looking not only for their first win tomorrow when they travel to Toronto but also their first goal. The Phoenix have been outscored 36-0 to start the season, after scoring just one goal in ten games last year. They’ll be back on home field Wednesday when they host Durham.
