The Peterborough Lakers picked up an important two points last night after a 9-6 win over the Oakville Rock. D-man Ben Trumble led the offense with two goals and an assist, while Braedon Saris and Holden Cattoni each chipped in with two goals as well. Goalie Drew Hutchison made 36 saves in the win.
The Lakers will travel to Collingwood tomorrow to take on the Owen Sound North Stars before returning to the PMC on Thursday for their final home game of the regular season against Brampton.
Also last night, the Jr A Lakers completed the series sweep over Six Nations, capping things off with a 9-6 win in Game 3. DJ Clark had a monster game with five goals and two assists. The Lakers will play either the Toronto Beaches or the Orangeville Northmen in the semifinals.
And it’s a full day of rugby at Nicholls Oval Park tomorrow, with four games on tap: beginning with the U16 boys against Balmy Beach at 9am and wrapping up at 2pm with the Marshall Championship between the 2XV Pagans and the Bytown Blues.
