The season has ended for the Peterborough Lakers after being eliminated last night in Six Nations.
The Lakers trailed for the entire game, eventually losing 12-7, as the Chiefs took the series 4-1. It was the third straight year that Peterborough lost to Six Nations in the MSL Final.
Chiefs star Dhane Smith was named playoff MVP, taking home the Johnny Shooter Davis award after finishing with 57 points in just nine games.
Six Nations will look for their third national championship in a row when they travel to New Westminster next week to compete for the Mann Cup against the Salmonbellies.
Dryland training is underway today for the Petes as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team will hit the ice tomorrow for scrimmages throughout the morning and afternoon. The on-ice portion of training camp is open to the public, with rosters and schedules available at PtboToday.ca.
The Petes will hold their annual Maroon and White game at 4pm on Friday, followed by exhibition games on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, both against Erie at the PMC.
