The Peterborough Jr A Lakers lost to the Orangeville Northmen last night, 8-4. They now trail the best-of-seven semifinal series 2-0, with Game 3 set for tomorrow night at the Tony Rose Arena in Orangeville. The series shifts back to the Peterborough Memorial Centre at 7 pm on Sunday.
The Senior Lakers will play their final home game of the regular season tonight as they host the Brampton Excelsiors at 8 pm. The Lakers have officially secured home floor in the first round of the playoffs, with their opponent set to be the Brooklin Lacrosse Club. Tonight’s game is Fan Appreciation Night, featuring a post-game meet and greet with the players.
And next month is your chance to hit the links for a great cause, as the Kenner Foundation will be hosting a fundraising golf tournament at the Quarry Golf Club. Aside from players, organizers are also looking for sponsors and volunteers to help out with the event.
All proceeds from the August 7 tournament will go to the Kenner Foundation Scholarship Fund.
