The Peterborough Jr A Lakers dropped game one of their semifinal series, falling 10-7 to the Orangeville Northmen. The Lakers were blanked 4-0 in the second period but came alive in the third with six goals—just short of completing the comeback. Game two is tonight at 8 at the Memorial Centre.
In Junior Regional Cup rugby, the U18 Peterborough Pagans head to Kawartha Lakes tonight for a semifinal clash with Lindsay RFC. Kickoff is set for 7:45.
And on the diamond, three Peterborough Tigers teams are in action at home. The U9 Tier 2 squad hosts Uxbridge at 6pm at Brinton Carpet Park, the U15 Tier 2 Tigers face Clarington at 7pm at Riverside, and the U15 Elite team takes on Whitby at 7:30pm from Trent Sports Fields.
