The Touch-the-Truck event is returning to light up Centennial Park in Trenton Thursday, July 24.
To accommodate the event, the City of Quinte West said Couch Crescent and the Centennial Park Pavilion parking lot will be closed Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure extends from Ontario Street to the Bob Wannamaker Amphitheatre.
Access to Couch Crescent will be from Bay Street.
Described as the city’s “biggest truck event of the year,” there will be police cars, fire trucks, Zambonis, and public works equipment for families to get up close with and check out. The actual event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park.
The Touch-the-Truck event is an annual event presented by the library and public works department. It’s also free!
The library will have also truck-themed activities, and there will be a chance to sign-up for summer reading challenges. Quinte Access is hosting a barbecue, and nearby are the Quinte West Pop-ups with their vendors.
Meanwhile, motorists are being asked to use alternate routes during the festivities. The road is set to reopen to traffic at about 3 p.m.
