Hospice Peterborough has opened registration for this year’s Hike for Hospice, set for Sunday, September 28 at Millennium Park.
Now in its 23rd year, the event is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, bringing the community together in support of individuals facing life-threatening illness and grief.
The walk follows a gentle route from Millennium Park near the Silver Bean Café to Beavermead Beach, with a halfway turnaround option. A short opening ceremony, light refreshments, and a sweet treat at the finish are all part of the day, and participants can also join virtually.
In 2024, the hike raised a record $138,000. This year’s volunteer planning committee is hoping to build on that success.
“We’re really excited to see everyone come together again to raise funds for crucial hospice services for our community,” said Hike Committee Co-Chair Tom LaBranche.
Funds raised support more than 26 free programs and services offered by Hospice Peterborough.
