A Peterborough man is walking away with a life-changing windfall after winning a $50,000 top prize through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
OLG says 32-year-old Cody Sears claimed the top prize with INSTANT CASH IN MULTI-WIN (Game #2497), a $50 instant ticket with a maximum payout of $50,000. Sears says he enjoys playing instant games regularly, but this is his first major win.
He discovered his lucky ticket while checking it at a local store. “I shared the news with my family and friends, and everyone was so excited for me,” he said during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where he picked up his cheque.
For now, Sears says he plans to save his winnings and take some time to decide how best to use the money. “I feel pretty good,” he said with a smile. “$50,000 will do just fine!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Mister Convenience on Monaghan Road in Peterborough.
According to OLG, the odds of winning any prize with INSTANT CASH IN MULTI-WIN are 1 in 3.18. More information on the game and other instant ticket options is available on the OLG website.
