A 38-year-old Douro man is facing multiple charges after a knife-related disturbance in Peterborough.
Police say officers were called to Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, after reports of a man brandishing a knife at another individual. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description. One officer drew their firearm while PC Wentworth and K9 Gryphon approached and took the suspect into custody.
During a search, police say they seized brass knuckles, two knives, and 6.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
The accused faces charges including assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition orders, and possession of a Schedule I substance. Officials note the man is already bound by four prohibition orders preventing him from possessing weapons.
He was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday.
