That line came following a meeting spearheaded by Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith on Thursday morning at Peterborough and Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce with business leaders and economic development experts. Smith spoke to the media following alongside Mayor of Peterborough Jeff Leal and County of Peterborough Warden Bonnie Clark.
Mayor Leal says a theme discussed is the importance for leadership to make sure it is doing enough to be able to assist locally built businesses.
County Warden Clark adds communication amongst all levels of governments is vital.
Peterborough MP Emma Harrison also participated in the meeting virtually.
This year, Siemens announced a plan to relocate its Peterborough facility to Concord, Lufthansa’s revealed it will be closing its Peterborough call centre and Coca Cola Canada confirmed the decision to cease local production of Minute Maid products.
