Peterborough city council has approved zoning changes to allow a six-storey, 42-unit apartment building at 736 Maryland Ave., clearing the way for a new residential development on the city’s west side.
The property, located between Clonsilla Avenue and High Street, has been purchased by Kawartha Commons Cohousing. The proposed amendments align with the Provincial Planning Statement and conform to the city’s Official Plan.
The project will still require site plan approval before construction can begin, ensuring details such as design, access and servicing are finalized prior to development.
