Police have identified the victim and laid charges following the death of a man in Bobcaygeon.
Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a park on Mansfield Street on Saturday, September 27, shortly before 9:18 p.m., where a man was found deceased. The victim has been identified as Jason Bucsis, 50, of Toronto. One person was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, Curtis Gordon, 31, of Port Credit, has been charged with manslaughter and failure to comply with a release order. Gordon is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Monday, October 6.
The investigation is ongoing, led by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
