The Ontario government is investing more than $21,000 in programs for seniors in Lennox and Addington to help them stay healthy, independent, and socially connected.
As part of the Seniors Community Grant Program, $11,420 is going to Lennox & Addington Seniors Outreach Services Inc. to support osteoporosis and cardiac rehab programs. Another $9,920 is going to the Lennox & Addington County Public Library Board for the Older Adult Empowerment Series.
The funding supports the province’s broader goal of helping seniors live in their own homes longer while staying active and engaged in their communities.
“Our seniors have been foundation of rural, close-knit communities for generations,” said Ric Bresee, MPP for Hastings – Lennox and Addington. “This Seniors Community Grant will help support the health and well being of local seniors, keeping more of our parents and grandparents in their own homes for longer, happy, healthy and engaged with the communities they love. I am grateful to Premier Ford and the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility for providing this funding and continuing to support our greatest generation.”
Ontario is spending $7 million this year on more than 330 local projects through the program, with up to $25,000 available for each. An additional $1 million is dedicated to supporting senior veterans.
The province is also expanding Seniors Active Living Centres and hosting over 100 Seniors Active Living Fairs in 2025–26 to connect older adults to programs and services.
