Quinte West is building a new multi-use trail connecting Centennial Park to Bain Park along the Bay of Quinte.
Phase 1 construction work on the waterfront trail project is slated to run from this fall to summer 2026. According to city staff, this work will mean a new section of trail built from Centennial Park to city-owned property along the waterfront.
Meanwhile, Phase 2 work is set to start in spring 2026, which will focus on building the remaining section of the trail connecting Phase 1 to Bain Park.
The new three-metre, multi-use paved section of trail will connect to the existing pathway in Centennial Park and feature benches, gardens, trees and trailhead areas along the route.
“The new trail will provide increased active transportation opportunities and another way to enjoy Quinte West’s waterfront,” said the city, noting that the project is being funded in part by the Government of Canada’s active transportation fund.
The existing park trail remains open.
Residents are encouraged to follow along online for project updates.
