If you’re living in the Prince Edward Street/County Road 64 reconstruction area and along detour routes, “Drive Slow” lawn signs are now up for grabs.
The Municipality of Brighton says the free signs can be picked up during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the Municipal Centre (35 Alice St.), and public works facility (67 Sharp Rd.)
The signs come as officials continue to ask motorists to drive with care and be mindful of pedestrians and residents living in the area amid the massive infrastructure project.
As previously reported, the latest phase of the multi-million-dollar reconstruction project has Prince Edward between Harbour and Cedar streets shut down until the end of September.
Work is then set to shift towards Loyalist Drive. Final paving and surface work is expected to span into late fall – but at this point, only lane restrictions will be in place.
The most urban portion of the project – up to Elizabeth Street – won’t be tackled until next year.
