Mental health awareness and recovery will be the big winner September 16th when 144 golfers tee off at Black Diamond Golf Club.
Swing Fore Mental Health will see funds raised for the Ross Memorial Hospital’s mental health programs and Peterborough Youth Services.
Black Diamond events coordinator Barb Timms has co-organized the tournament. She says her motivation for doing so is rooted in personal experience.
Timms notes that club member Paul Bromby, the author of a mental health-related children’s book, will speak during the post-tournament dinner.
Timms notes mental health challenges resulting from the pandemic lockdown remain prevalent, making the need for services more pressing.
Timms notes while the tournament is fully booked, those interested can get their name on the list now for next year’s tournament. To do so, email btimms@blackdiamondgolfclub.ca or phone 705-879-7564.
