A new program at Fleming College is creating opportunities for Indigenous learners interested in environmental and natural resource sciences.
Launching September 15 at the Sutherland campus in Peterborough, the Indigenous Environmental Sciences Pathway offers tuition-free admission with no high school diploma required. The program combines online and in-person learning in a small-class setting, designed to provide both academic and personal support.
The pathway reflects Fleming’s commitment to reconciliation and inclusive education by opening doors to careers in environmental stewardship. Graduates will be eligible to enter diploma and certificate programs within the School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, including Fish and Wildlife Technician, Resource Drilling Technician, Conservation Biology, Ecosystem Management, Forestry Technician, and more.
Students can also earn up to five transfer credits, while receiving holistic support through Indigenous Student Services and Fleming’s academic departments.
