A drug investigation in Deseronto has led to the seizure of suspected fentanyl and the arrest of one accused on trafficking charges.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the investigation began earlier this year after community concerns about drug activity in the area. On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Fourth Street.
The operation involved members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, supported by the Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit, and the Lennox and Addington County Detachment. One person was arrested without incident.
Investigators seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl along with items linked to drug trafficking.
Christopher Roberts, 37, of Deseronto, is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Roberts has been released and is scheduled to appear in Court in Napanee on September 30, 2025.
