Two new Level 3 DCFC electric vehicle chargers are now available at the municipal parking lot at 55 King Street in Picton.
These fast chargers are the first of their kind in the municipality and bring the total number of public charging stations to four. Connected to the Flo network, the chargers cost $20 per hour, payable through the Flo app or by credit card.
Funding for the installation came through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program and Ontario’s Electric Vehicle ChargeON Program.
Motorists can park in the designated spaces for up to four hours while actively charging their vehicles.
Meanwhile, EV chargers at Crystal Palace will be temporarily out of service from Friday, September 5 to Sunday, September 7 during the Picton Fair.
Residents can learn more about EV charging options through the municipality’s website.
