Good news is in the air with confirmation of the return of Brighton’s Christmas tree disposal program.
Public works staff will again collect trees after the holidays this year, meaning there’s one less thing to worry about after the holiday hustle.
For residents north of the tracks, pick-up will be on Jan. 7, 8 and 9, and south of the tracks on Jan. 12, 13 and 14. (Of note: Collections are also weather dependent.)
Residents looking to take part need to place bare trees at the curb before 7 a.m. This means all decorations, bags, hooks and materials must be removed when trees are placed out.
Christmas trees can also be taken to the landfill for free disposal. Municipal staff said all collected trees will be chipped and composted.
