Ontario Provincial Police are reminding cyclists about the importance of visibility after an early morning crash involving an e-bike and an SUV in Kawartha Lakes.
The collision happened around 5:17 a.m. on Wednesday, on Emily Park Road, just south of Highway 7. Police say both vehicles were travelling north when the e-bike was struck from behind by the SUV.
The rider was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 27-year-old from Seabright was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for improper lighting on a motor-assisted bicycle.
Police stress that proper lighting and reflective gear are essential, particularly in low-light conditions.
