Quinte Conservation is inviting families and nature lovers to Discovery Day at Vanderwater on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free event in offers fun and educational activities for all ages.
Visitors can see birds of prey up close with FalconEd and meet local reptiles through Reptilia’s displays. The Paddling Puppeteer will perform a unique show combining music, puppetry, and storytelling.
Hands-on activities will teach about invasive species, watersheds, and aquatic bugs that help monitor water quality. Attendees can also create nature-inspired crafts.
Food and drinks will be available by donation, courtesy of the Madoc Lions Club. Visitors will also learn how Sandy Pines cares for injured wildlife.
Quinte Conservation says Discovery Day is a great way to connect with nature and learn about protecting the environment. Parking and admission are free, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
