A Kingston woman is facing charges after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy. 62 and 14, say Belleville police.
On Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at about 9 p.m., police said they responded to the collision and allege that one of the drivers was showing signs of impairment.
No injuries were reported, but officers said three children were in the vehicle, including one without a car seat.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 30-year-old Kingston woman was arrested and charged with operation while impaired and abandoning a child.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear in court in October, reported police.
BREAK-AND-ENTER REPORT
In other police news, on Friday, Aug. 22, at about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter in-progress in the city’s east end.
After arriving on scene, officers observed a woman being removed from a residence – the occupants reported that they had returned home to find an unknown woman inside their apartment, reported police. After removing her from the unit, they allegedly discovered some personal belongings missing, added police.
While the woman was “being removed,” she also allegedly pulled the fire alarm.
The accused 43-year-old woman with no fixed address was charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, false alarm of fire, and failure to comply with a probation order.
BREACH OF UNDERTAKING, PUBLIC INTOXICATION CHARGES LAID
Last Friday night – at about 9:05 p.m. – police said they were called to help EMS at a residence in the city’s west end after a report of a disturbance.
During the investigation, police said one of the men inside was known to be in breach of his undertaking by being at the residence and communicating with occupants inside.
As a result, a 51-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking, reported police.
During the arrest, another man allegedly intoxicated became hostile and refused to leave the area, said police, adding that as a result, the 40-year-old Belleville man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.
BREACH OF RELEASE, PUBLIC INTOXICATION CHARGES
In another unrelated incident Friday night around 10:15 p.m., police said a traffic stop was initiated after a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign.
When officers approached the vehicle, they allegedly observed a female passenger in the vehicle and empty alcohol cans in the back seat. Further investigation revealed the driver was in breach of his release order by having contact with the female passenger, said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 33-year-old Trenton man was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a release order. During the arrest, the woman, who police claimed was intoxicated, also allegedly became aggressive with officers and attempted to interfere.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 31-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Control Act.
