Quinte Health has declared a Code Grey after a hard drive failure shut down its computer systems at its hospitals like Belleville General and Prince Edward County Memorial.
The outage has forced staff to switch to paper-based procedures. As a result, some non-emergency procedures, including outpatient diagnostic imaging (like X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs) and elective surgeries, have been cancelled for today.
Hospital staff are contacting affected patients directly. If you do not receive a call, you are asked to attend your appointment as planned.
Emergency departments remain open, but services may be slower than usual.
Quinte Health expects the system to be down until late afternoon or early evening.
The organization is asking patients and visitors for patience and understanding while technical teams work to restore full service. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
