The City of Peterborough’s Cultural Services Division is reaching out to artists, cultural workers, organizations, and residents for input on the future of the city’s arts and culture scene.
As a newly formed division, they want to connect directly with the community to understand what’s needed to help creativity and connection thrive. The feedback will help guide the development of Peterborough’s upcoming Municipal Cultural Plan, a framework that will shape the city’s investments in arts, culture, and heritage over the next decade.
The City is hosting a series of open houses where participants can share ideas and engage in hands-on activities:
-
Tuesday, August 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peterborough Public Library (345 Aylmer St. N)
-
Thursday, August 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Peterborough (250 Crescent St.)
-
Tuesday, August 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peterborough Museum & Archives (300 Hunter St. E)
An online survey will also be available from August 8 to August 25 for those who prefer to provide input remotely. The survey takes about five to 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.
For questions or to share ideas, residents can email CulturalServices@peterborough.ca.
This consultation marks the first step in finalizing a consultant selection later this year and ensuring the city’s cultural investments reflect community needs.
