A worldwide event that fosters greater appreciation and understanding of Earth’s closest celestial neighbour will be held October 4th at the Harold Town Conservation Area off Old Norwood Road.
Hosted by the Peterborough Astronomical Association, International Observe The Moon Night will see telescopes and binoculars provided from 8 p.m. on.
Longtime association member Rick Stankiewicz says the moon is a constant that affects earth in a number of ways, one in particular.
Stankiewicz says the worldwide shared experience of viewing the moon has particular appeal.
Stankiewicz offers some advice for those planning to come out.
Should the event be cancelled due to heavy cloud, the association will make that announcement on its website at www.peterboroughastronomy.com.
