The Zamboni at Brighton’s King Edward Park Arena is sporting a fiery new look for the 2025-26 ice season.
“Who says fire and ice don’t mix?” wrote Brighton Fire and Rescue on Facebook, while sharing the unveiling of the newly-wrapped fire-and-rescue-themed Zamboni, which looks just like a Brighton fire truck.
That’s right, the Zamboni won’t just be working to keep the ice surface safe this season. With fire safety slogans, it will also serve as a reminder for arena attendees of the significance of working smoke alarms, having escape plans in place in case of emergencies and other fire safety measures.
Brighton Fire and Rescue Chief Gene Thompson and Deputy Fire Chief Andrew Hutchinson, alongside Brighton’s manager of parks and recreation Vicki Hallam and supervisor Nick Marnika, recently gathered for the official unveiling.
