The founder of Boater’s World in Peterborough is being remembered as a skilled and passionate boater who enabled others to safely traverse local waterways.
Tom Evans passed away July 15th in Cobourg at age 79.
Born in Montreal, Evans began his working life at Uniroyal/Goodridge in Kitchener but moved to Peterborough where he founded Tom Evans Tire and Auto. He later opened Boater’s World on George Street, which remains the local go-to store for marine accessories.
Evans’ celebration of life will be held August 12th, 4 to 7 p.m., at 264 Rankin Boulevard in Cobourg.
