A Belleville woman has been charged after an alleged shoplifting incident in Brighton, says Northumberland OPP.
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, at about 11:45 a.m., police said they responded to a theft in-progress call at a Prince Edward Street business in Brighton.
After arriving on scene, police said one individual was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 32-year-old Belleville woman was charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused will appear in Cobourg court in August, reported OPP.
