A Brighton resident has been charged following a dispute on Elizabeth Street in the Municipality of Brighton.
Northumberland OPP say officers responded to a complaint shortly after 5:30 p.m. on July 17. The report involved a disagreement between two individuals in the area.
Police say no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. However, following their investigation, officers arrested one person at the scene.
A 50-year-old from Brighton has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in August.
The OPP did not release the name of the other person involved and continue to urge residents to report any suspected unlawful activity. Tips can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at stopcrimehere.ca.
