A Kingston man is facing 11 charges after Cobourg police investigated reports of two people slumped over inside a vehicle with drug paraphernalia in plain view.
Police say officers responded around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 near Elgin Street West and Rogers Road. During the investigation, officers allegedly found suspected fentanyl, gamma-hydroxybutyrate, also known as GHB, and a knife.
The 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with drug-impaired driving, driving under suspension, and possession of suspected fentanyl and GHB. He also faces weapons-related, licence and vehicle documentation offences, along with two counts of failing to comply with probation orders.
Police say officers observed signs of drug impairment and a drug recognition expert evaluation was conducted.
