Northumberland OPP have charged a 61-year-old man following an investigation into a reported break-and-enter at an unoccupied home in Hamilton Township.
Police were called Saturday around 5:30 p.m. after the residence on County Road 45 was reportedly entered without permission. Officers found no one at the property, but determined it had recently been occupied. A Scenes of Crime Officer assisted investigators.
Police later identified and arrested Cecil Parsons of no fixed address in Cobourg.
Parsons faces charges including break and enter to commit an indictable offence, being unlawfully in a dwelling, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Cobourg’s Ontario Court of Justice in November.
