A Port Hope park will soon carry the name of longtime municipal councillor Jeff Lees, recognizing his 25 years of public service and contributions to the community.
The municipality is inviting residents to a ceremony Sunday, Oct. 4, to officially rename Kinsmen Park as Jeff Lees Memorial Kinsmen Park. Lees, who also served as deputy mayor, was known for his involvement with numerous community organizations and events, including the Port Hope Kinsmen.
The ceremony will bring together Lees’ family, friends, former colleagues and community members to celebrate his legacy and unveil the park’s new name.
The event begins at 2 p.m. at Kinsmen Park, 40 Mill St.
