The Town of Cobourg says new traffic signals on D’Arcy Street will not be operating when students return to school Tuesday.
Signals are being installed at D’Arcy Street and Elgin Street East, as well as D’Arcy Street and University Avenue East.
The town says the project has been delayed by longer-than-expected delivery times for some required equipment.
Work at Elgin Street East is nearing completion, with electrical connections, testing and final adjustments still required. Installation continues at University Avenue East, with some equipment expected to arrive in early October.
Construction will continue after school resumes, with traffic controls in place. No lane restrictions will be allowed during peak travel periods from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.
