Port Hope pitcher Cal Quantrill allowed just two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings as the Texas Rangers blanked the Tampa Bay Rays 6-0 on Thursday night.
Corey Seager hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, while Jakob Junis and Chase Silseth completed the three-hit shutout.
Quantrill improved to 7-5 and has posted a 1.25 ERA over eight appearances since July 28.
