A 20 year old Roseneath man is facing several charges after a traffic stop in Cobourg earlier this week.
The Cobourg Police Service says officers conducting traffic enforcement near King Street East and Brook Road North on July 27 observed a vehicle travelling without a front licence plate.
Police say officers noticed signs of impairment after speaking with the driver and observed cannabis and related paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken for additional testing by a drug recognition expert.
Investigators also searched the vehicle and say they discovered several licence plates registered to other vehicles and owners.
The man has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, failing to display two licence plates, failing to surrender a vehicle permit, failing to surrender an insurance card and having cannabis readily available inside a vehicle.
Police say the accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
As is standard practice, police have not released the name of the accused.
