An 18-year-old Port Hope man is facing charges following an investigation by the Cobourg Police Service into alleged voyeurism and child sexual abuse material offences.
Police say the investigation began in July 2026 after receiving a report involving allegations of voyeurism, possession of child sexual abuse material, and making child sexual abuse material.
On July 30, members of the Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureau, K-9 Unit, and Uniform Patrol, along with investigators from the Port Hope Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureau, executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on Spencer Street in Port Hope.
Following the investigation, an 18-year-old Port Hope man was arrested and charged with voyeurism, making child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing. Police are not releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The Cobourg Police Service says anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to contact police at 905-372-6821 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
