Drivers in downtown Cobourg are being advised of upcoming road closures as the community prepares for the 58th Annual Sidewalk Sale.
The Town of Cobourg says several streets will be closed from Thursday, July 30 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, August 2 at 8 a.m. to accommodate the event.
Closures include King Street from Spring Street to Division Street, Second Street and Third Street from King Street to Albert Street, as well as George Street, which will be closed to through traffic at Covert Street.
The town says local businesses will remain open during the event and motorists are asked to use alternate routes and follow posted signs.
The Sidewalk Sale runs from Thursday, July 30 to Saturday, August 1, featuring outdoor sales from downtown businesses, local vendors, live music, a Kids Zone, extended patios and food trucks.
Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or carpool where possible, as downtown streets are expected to be busy.
The Town says emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
Free three-hour parking will be available in municipal lots and on-street spaces, with additional time available for a fee.
