The Municipality of Port Hope has appointed Michael Pahor as its new Director of Corporate Initiatives.
Pahor will officially begin the role on Aug. 4 and will lead the municipality’s newly created Corporate Initiatives Department.
The department brings together Environmental Remediation and Communications while also overseeing corporate priorities including community and customer experience, Indigenous relations, business optimization, grant development and implementation of the municipality’s strategic plan.
Pahor joins the municipality after serving as Director of Regulatory Strategy with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, where he led Indigenous and public engagement initiatives, supported regulatory approvals and oversaw corporate governance and enterprise risk management programs.
He holds a Master of Public Policy and Governance from the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, along with a Collaborative Program Certificate in Environmental Studies.
Throughout his career, Pahor has helped secure millions of dollars in funding for infrastructure, recreation, library and cultural projects.
Chief Administrative Officer Mike Melinyshyn said Pahor’s experience will be a valuable addition to the municipality.
“Michael brings a strong track record of building relationships, advancing important initiatives and achieving meaningful outcomes for communities,” Melinyshyn said.
Pahor said he is looking forward to joining the municipality.
