Canadian Tire Cobourg has raised $10,500 for Jumpstart Charities, helping local children across Northumberland access organized sports and recreation opportunities.
The fundraising campaign ran throughout June, with customers at the Cobourg store contributing to the effort.
The funds will help remove financial barriers for local families, giving more children the opportunity to participate in sports, develop new skills and build confidence through physical activity.
As part of the campaign, the store also held a fundraising raffle for a brand-new barbecue. Carson was selected as the winner and received the prize from Canadian Tire Cobourg General Manager Matt Espey and Store Manager Brayden Shroer.
Store officials thanked customers and the wider community for their generosity and support.
They say the success of the campaign reflects the strong commitment Northumberland residents have to supporting local children and families and ensuring more young people have the opportunity to participate in sports and recreation.
The Jumpstart program helps provide children and youth with access to physical activity and organized sport by helping families overcome financial barriers.
